Karen is a psychiatrist and former hostage negotiator with the Chicago Police Department. After a negotiation goes terribly wrong, Karen quits her job as a negotiator and moves back to Texas. On her way there, her car breaks down on the side of the highway. A man named Frank and his ex-wife Rayanne pick her up, but it quickly becomes clear that Frank is involved in some sort of illegal activity with a stolen computer disk. During a break at a truck stop, he murders Rayanne. Karen escapes to to a nearby government installation, where a scientist is developing a time travel device. Karen uses it to turn back time to prevent Rayanne’s murder, but her interference only makes things worse. She makes repeated attempts at prevention but the cycle simply repeats.
