Hopelessly depressed and recently fired from his job as a realtor, suburban husband and father John Fleton (Luke Wilson) finds himself thrust into a nightmare of pure evil after encountering a charismatic stranger (Samuel L. Jackson) with a malevolent secret. John is taken on a murder-fueled ride by a mysterious stranger that transforms the weak-willed, disillusioned husband and father into a desperate hero willing to go to any length to protect his family. This leads him to question everything about his life, from his daily behavior to his very idea of evil.
